Taxes -
Direct Deposit
To help you save money, you can directly deposit your refund into two or
three bank accounts at the same time. So, spend some now, and save some for the
future! You will need your savings and checking account numbers and bank routing
information to take advantage of this opportunity. Tell your tax preparer you
want to use direct deposit. If you file your own taxes, use
IRS Form 8888 to direct deposit your refund in as many as three accounts.
What you need to know to use Form 8888:
- Name of your financial institution
- Your bank’s routing number (also called ABA number)
- Your account number, the name on the account, and the type of account
(checking, savings, IRA, other)
- Also be sure to ask your financial institution if the account is capable
of receiving electronic direct deposit.
